14th Annual Torquay Hotel Pier 2 Pub Ocean Swim Classic
on Saturday the 21st of Aprill 2012

Hervey Bay is famous for its clear water and its whale watching. Now, you too, can be one with those whales.

Long swim from Urangan Pier to jetty opposite Torquay Hotel (start 9:00 am).

Shorter swim from shore @ corner of Esplanade & Alexander St to the jetty opposite the Torquay Hotel (start 9:30 am)

Registration, numbering & race packs at the Urangan Pier for both events - 6:30am to 8:30 (Saturday) briefing at 8:15am for all swimmers.

Prize money for open placegetters, Male and Female, in each event, plus age group prizes and spot prizes

Queensland fine ocean swimmers series

The Pier to Pub Ocean Swim Classic is Round 4 in the Queensland fine ocean swimmers series run by oceanswims.com. There are five events in the series. The events are -

  • January 2 - Dicky Beach (entries open now on oceanswims.com)
  • March 11 - Tangalooma (Weekend Warrior Events)
  • April 15 - Coolangatta (Weekend Warrior Events)
  • April 21 - Hervey Bay (HBSLSC)
  • April 29 - Caloundra (Weekend Warrior Events)

Entrants in each participating swim will go into a draw for an Olympus Tough 810 waterproof camera, which is the same model that oceanswims.com uses in the ocean. You just have to make sure you're there at the draw, during each swim's presentation, to be able to claim your prize.

Do four of the five swims in the series, and you will go into a draw to win a trip to Vanuatu to swim in the Vanuatu Open Water Swim, in Port Vila on June 9, 2012, and the Espiritu Santo-Aore Swim, up north in Santo, three days later on June 12. Prize includes flights to Port Vila and Santo and return, transfers, swim entry packages and accommodation in both locations.
