Welcome back to more than ever before!
Counting down: to HBT!
That's right the 2XU Hervey Bay Triathlon has now been expanded into a Multisports Festival spanning 3 days and 4 events!
Last season, Sunday the 1st of May '11, saw 300 individuals and 50 teams (from first timer's to Olympians) enjoy a safe, fair, and fun triathlon experience. Over pretty much the traditional HBT course that everyone loved but with the added excitement of two laps on the bike (yes including that hill), for details see the "course" menu.
On Sunday the 22nd of April it will all be on again, strict field limits of 600 individual and 150 team starters will ensure that the atmosphere stays friendly and transition area space second to none. But this year there will be 4 times the fun with extra events:
- Ocean Swims - the Hervey Bay Surf Lifesaving Club's 14th annual Pier to Club ocean swim classic (3.4 or 1.6km),
- Kids triathlons - the Bmee GoKids! events for 7-10years & 11-14 years
- On Friday night the Australian Men's Fitness "Undie Run" - a one mile "sprint" for charity along the Esplanade bikepath from the Torquay Jetty to the Scarness Jetty.
Course maps for all Trifun Events activities are also available along with event information just choose from the menu above.
From the Friday night fun run through the Sports Expo all weekend finally the Sunday night after party at BaysWater (and a lazy day down the beach on the Monday) to recover it will be another weekend to remember.
Continuing in '12 is a teams matching service - if you don't know anyone with whom you can form a team, don't worry, you can now enter a single leg and we will match you up with the some people from a similar demographic to for a team - details on the "enter" page. Alternatively use our facebookpage to find that missing person for your team..
